Kannata Valley is a resort village on the eastern shore of Last Mountain Lake, in the Rural Municipality of Longlaketon No. 219. It lies about 52 kilometres northwest of Regina, and visitors reach it from Highway 322.
The community incorporated as a resort village on September 1, 1966. Today it is run by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the third Monday of every month.
